Intersection Improvement Begins SoonIndiana Department of Transportation has scheduled the bid letting to improve the drainage and traffic flow at the intersection of Crawfordsville Road and Raceway Road for April 18. INDOT Public Information Officer Debbie Calder said the project could begin within the three to four weeks if a bid is awarded. The project was scheduled for a December 13, 2006 bid letting, but not all of the right-of-way had been purchased. The project required additional right-of-way. “At least one of the parcels had to go through the condemnation proceedings”, INDOT Mike Eubank said. The project description calls for adding three lanes to the east and westbound traffic flow of Crawfordsville Road and two lanes to Raceway Road. The road project involves about 600 feet to improve the intersection. The northeast corner is now vacant as INDOT plans to demolish the corner to improve vision. The project cost is $1,729,819.11 . |
