Clermont Fire Contract Negotiations Set For January 4

(posted Dec 23)

Clermont residents will continue to have fire protection from Wayne Township even though the 2008 fire contract has not been not approved.

Town Attorney Bob Lutz said the township has agreed to continue to provide fire protection while working out the 2008 contract agreement. Clermont will be notified by a written notice if Wayne Township decides not to continue service if a contract cannot be accepted.

The proposed 2008 fire contract is $358,000.

Lutz said he is meeting with Wayne Township January 4 to negotiate the fire contract, and he indicated that he feels optimistic that an agreement can be reached.
