Lutz assumes City County Council Seat

Political power shifted in Wayne Township within 12 minutes on May 12. The Wayne Township Republican Party, in a consensus vote, agreed to Robert B. Lutz filling the vacancy of City County Council District 13 seat that was held by Earl Salisbury.

After taking the Oath of Office, Lutz said, “I will do what I can as well as I can.”

Salisbury resigned from the seat because of personal issues. He felt like he could no longer give the quality of time the job required as family issues arose that required more travel time.

“I can’t think of a better guy to fill the slot,” Salisbury said.

However, Salisbury did not totally fade from the political landscape. The caucus’ vote included Salisbury filling the vacancy of the Wayne Township Board District One seat as a result of Gerry Spears’ resignation.

After taking the oath of office, Salisbury said a few words as well. “I am excited for the township,” he said.
Salisbury said he has a passion for small towns and small government and the township level provides that type of atmosphere.
