Fire Damages Eagle Creek Court Apartment(posted June 16) Speedway Police and Fire departments responded to an apartment fire in the 6000 block of Augusta Drive North early Saturday morning. Officer Matt Dahlke arrived on the scene and attempted to assist residents in evacuating but was unable to get to the second floor due to heavy smoke in the hallway. He went to the rear of the building and was able to rescue the resident of apartment C from the rear stairway. No injuries were reported by fire officials, the initial damage report was smoke and water damage to two units. The fire was reported just after midnight by a security guard who saw smoke coming from the building. |
