Trader's Point Hotel Seeking to Add Rooms

(posted July 4)

Traders Point Hotel Partnership LLC is seeking approval from the Department of Metropolitan Development Commission to modify the site plan to add 44 additional rooms to the proposed 4 story 110 room hotel located at 8850 Zionsville Road. The plans also include a one story office building. DMD said the parcel was rezoned to CS in 2003 in order to build the office/hotel.

Pike Township Residents Association President Susan Blair said the neighborhood has not take a formal position concerning the project, but they expect to hear from developers at their July 11 meeting. She said the PTRA has concerns because a transfer station was given a variance to build across the street from the project through an overturned court ruling. "I believe it is safe to say we (PTRA) have concerns regarding the economic impact the transfer station will have on the hotel."

The hearing is set for July 12 at 200 E. Washington Street.
