Bids Received for Science Rooms

Speedway Public Schools Administration received six bids on Feb 6 to remodel
the four existing science rooms in the high school. The scope of work is
to update the original 1963 rooms with a better functional use to meet
the 21st century technology. The rooms will receive new floors, ceiling
work, and lighting fixtures.
According to project consultant Chuck Tyler of Fanning and Howey, the bid
specifications had an alternative to eliminate the updates to the preparation
and storage rooms from the project because of the unknowns in the market.
Seeking alternative bids serves as a budget protection. The bids will be
reviewed and awarded at February 12 School Board meeting.
