Ean Glover: A Friend to All
(posted Nov 14)
"Sweetest man, friend to everyone, alive, intelligent, well traveled,
and good sense of humor" are some of the attributes that instantly
pop into the minds of people when thinking about Ean Glover. Glover is
the husband of Elizabeth Glover of Charlie Brown's Pancake and Steak House.
Glover lost his life in a tragic accident Thursday evening.
Angie Wood said "he is very missed" by more than just people
at Charlie Brown's. Wood first met Ean in 1999 when she was hired at the
restaurant. "He was really sweet." He was always concerned how
people were feeling and if their kids were OK.
John Jones said he met Ean when first started working at Charlie Brown's
17 years ago. Jones remembers Ean as being very well mannered and yet full
of life. "He was a very good friend."
David Lord, a local artist and customer, said he has been coming to Charlie
Brown's for about 15 years. He recalled the first time he came to Charlie
Brown's was qualification weekend. "It was really busy."
Lord's first description of Ean was a "good and gentle man" and
"a friend to everyone." Lord remembered his other fine traits
of always saying hello and goodbye to everyone. "He tried to know
everyone."
Lord was impressed with Ean's intellect. "He knew a lot about everything,"
he said. "I miss him. I miss him a lot."
Lord said he heard the news about Ean's death from his daughter, and if
there is a lesson to be learned it is "live each day to the fullest."
His comment reminded him of the song "Live Like There is no Tomorrow."
"Go home and kiss your kids," he told Wood.
Daniele Treece knew Ean for three years. "I thought he was one of
the sweetest people I have ever known." She described him as an easy
going man with a love for poached eggs. "He loved the way I would
poach his eggs. I could poach them perfectly."
Treece was touched by Ean's sincere compassion of wanting to know how things
were going in people's lives.
