Speedway Adopts Weekly Recycling Pickup

The Speedway Town Council approved of solid waste commission's recommendation to award Republic Services a one year recycling contract. Residents will have a weekly pickup starting in 2009, pending contract acceptance. Even though the cost per household will increase by $2.82, Town Manager Barbara Lawrence said there will be no increase in the fee currently collected from residents.

Clermont Rejects Advisory Council Request

The Clermont Town Council rejected Councilor Walt Miller's request to make the Clermont Community Development Committee an advisory board to the town. The council deliberated over 20 minutes at the November 13 meeting. Although the board did not reject it with an official vote, council strongly expressed its dissatisfaction to the idea.

Ean Glover: A Friend to All

"Sweetest man, friend to everyone, alive, intelligent, well traveled, and good sense of humor" are some of the attributes that instantly pop into the minds of people when thinking about Ean Glover. Glover is the husband of Elizabeth Glover of Charlie Brown's Pancake and Steak House. Glover lost his life in a tragic accident Thursday evening.
