(posted Dec 13)

Speedway Police are searching for the suspect in a home invasion robbery that took place about 1 pm Saturday in the 5900 block of Apache Wells in Lake's Edge apartments.

Chief Jeff Dine said the elderly male victim was taken to Methodist for treatment after being threatened with a knife and struck in the forehead. The suspect gained access by pretending to be a maintenance man, then tied the victim with phone cord before fleeing on foot with several Christmas presents.

The robbery was the second in Speedway within a 24 hour period. Around 5 pm Friday, a man carjacked a woman in front of the Avenue in the Speedway Super Center and drove her to the CVS on Cunningham Rd, where he took her keys and $10. The suspect was last seen walking towards BW3's west of Marsh. The victim's keys were recovered from a shopping cart in the parking lot. Despite arriving on scene in less than a minute after run was dispatched, officers searching the area were unable to locate the suspect.
