The project area runs from Rick's Boat Yard Cafe to the Eagle Creek Dam. The project should take about 180 days to complete once work begins. << more >> Grande Avenue Closing Remains Hot Topic(posted Dec 13)Merri Anderson, president of the Greater Garden City Civic Association, took the issue of vacating Grande Avenue to State Representative Phil Hinkle's December 11 Town Hall meeting. Her message stated that the Speedway Redevelopment Commission's plans to vacate Grande Avenue is affecting more people outside of Speedway than inside. She was concerned about the businesses on Gasoline Alley and the surrounding neighborhoods. The meetings, held on the first Thursday of the month, are to educate and to retain the Native American culture by drumming, storytelling, crafting, and talking in the native language. << more >> KIB Awards Tree Planting Grant to Clermont(posted Dec 12)Walt Miller of the Clermont Community Development Committee announced to the four members present at its Dec 9 that meeting that Keep Indianapolis Beautiful awarded a tree planting grant to Clermont. The committee applied for a grant to plant 50-60 trees. The trees will be planted on public and private land.
