Property Owners Receive Survey Notifications

(posted Jan 3)

American Structurepoint sent out letters during the week of December 22 notifying property owners the need to have access to their properties to conduct a Georgetown Road route survey under the direction of the Speedway Redevelopment Commission. The SRC's plan is to vacate Georgetown Road for the conversion to a linear park.

Bob Baker of 2420 Georgetown Road indicated he received a letter, but doubts if he'll respond. David Athey of 2490 Georgetown Road told the Navigator that he did not want ASP to enter his property.

The letter did not give a date as to when the survey will happen. Brian Moll of American Structurepoint did not return calls concerning dates or specifics of the project.

Survey crews were out the week of January 5th. Brian Moll of American Structurepoint said a boundary survey is required, along with a title search to see if the road was deeded by fee simple or grant. The title search report will also go to the City of Indianapolis since the four-lane road is under the city’s control.
