Redevelopment Authority Created

Speedway Town Council passed ordinance 1109 creating a redevelopment authority.
Councilor Jeff Hartman was not present.
Councilor Lu Hillmer apologized to the board members for delaying the vote until May 9 because she did not understand the purpose of the authority at the April 28 meeting.
President Gary Raikes appointed the three member commission, naming Ed Frazier, Ernie Williams and Jerry Urick for a three year term.
Raikes said those were the only residents that expressed an interest to
serve, and he believed their professional experience would be logical choices
for appointments.
Williams will continue to serve on Board of Zoning Appeals and Frazier
on the Economic Development Commission.
