Approximately two dozen people have had the privilege to view and make comments on the two American Structurepoint designs of the proposed Georgetown Road linear park. This viewing is prior to any formal public display by the Speedway Redevelopment Commission.

The displays are currently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gaddis. Mrs. Gaddis said the two exhibits would be at their house for about a week.

Each display has different features, including a water spray, NASCAR wire-frame structure, water fall, digital visor, and music pavilion. A bark park and skate park are proposed for the wooded area located near the unimproved 23rd Street. Meyers Avenue would provide access to the bark and skate parks.

She said that Jerry Urick of the Speedway Redevelopment Authority has compiled a list of people to see the displays and to leave comments. Urick delivered the two displays to her house on August 8.

"Jerry got all of them," she said in reference to the 26 people who have viewed the plans so far. "Jerry has been out working the neighborhood," Mr. Gaddis quipped. Mrs. Gaddis indicated she has notified some of her neighbors about the plans.

The Redevelopment Commission discussed at its last meeting about displaying the proposals at the library.

"I'm going to send you a note by Wednesday outlining opportunities for public input in reference to the two options which have been prepared. At a minimum they will be on display at the library with comment cards and a comment box," Speedway Redevelopment Commission Executive Director Scott Harris said on August 7.

Mrs. Gaddis thinks these displays will be posted at the library. She said she would welcome people into her home to look at the displays.
