It's open! Super Tortas Estilo Barrio opened October 6 at 10th and Main
Street, offering Mexican food to the area.
"We are more than business partners. We are husband and wife,"
Yolanda Zarco said. Yolanda and her husband Alex discovered the empty corner
building (formerly known as Cattie's Corner) when driving by one day. They
saw the for rent sign and called the owner about opening a business.
Some of the Mexican dishes include hot dogs, known as salchicha in Spanish.
Alex butterflies the hot dogs and then fries them on the grill.
Over a dozen people patronized the restaurant on October 15 between 6:15
pm and 6:30 pm. Darryl Roach commented about large portitions offered as
he took his first bite of a Super Torta Estilo Barrio's sandwich.
Jim Linder, who resides on Ford Street, likes Mexican food and wanted to
support a local restaurant. Linder is a repeat customer. He ate lunch there
earlier in the week and decided to rally some of his friends that drive
classic cars to stop by with him for an evening meal. Rich Brannan joined
the crowd to experience the Mexican restaurant for the first time.
